Sason honey hunters harvest natural tree honey for high profits
In the Sason district of Batman, Turkey, local honey hunters are generating significant income by harvesting natural honey from tree hollows in forested areas. The process involves tracking swarms of bees that leave their hives during the spring to settle in forest cavities.
To preserve the ecosystem, hunters use meticulous methods to locate the bees and extract the honey without harming the natural habitats. This untouched, natural honey is highly valued and sells for approximately 10,000 Turkish Lira per kilogram.
Due to its purity and perceived medicinal properties, there is strong demand for the product both domestically and internationally, with notable interest from buyers in Russia and Azerbaijan.
