Sassari healthcare faces staffing shortages and service changes

Staffing shortages in the Sassari healthcare system are causing disruptions to essential services. Regional Councilor Aldo Salaris has raised concerns regarding the lack of replacements for personnel on maternity leave, noting that this issue is particularly critical in the child neuropsychiatry department. He warned that failing to cover these absences increases workloads for existing staff and threatens the continuity of care for children and families.

In a separate development within the Sassari ASL territory, a new pediatrician, Elisa Pala, has begun serving the municipalities of Bonorva and Thiesi. Patients previously assigned to temporary staff must now re-register with Dr. Pala through the regional health portal or local community clinics.
