Sassari hosts religious feasts and mission centenary celebrations

Sassari is hosting several significant religious observances. The city is preparing for the feast of Our Lady of Mercy, the patron saint of the Gremio della Mercede. The celebrations include a solemn mass presided over by Archbishop Francesco Antonio Soddu, followed by a traditional torchlight procession featuring local groups, musicians, and various civic organizations.

Additionally, the Archdiocese of Sassari and Missio Sassari are commemorating the centenary of World Mission Day. The event included the inauguration of a commemorative plaque at the Archbishop's Seminary and prayer sessions led by Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Becciu. The program featured reflections on the theme ‘One in Christ, united in mission’ and concluded with a solemn Eucharistic celebration.
