Sassari: Investigations launched into suspected new pig farm

In Sassari, local councilors and civic committees have launched actions to investigate a suspected new pig weaning operation located between the Caniga San Giorgio and Maccia d’Agliastru roads. This follows the recent closure of a previous pig farm in the same area after a court ruling and findings of irregularities by the Metropolitan City.

Local officials and the Caniga San Giorgio committee have filed requests for access to administrative documents to clarify the nature of the new activity, which was reportedly submitted to the Suape desk in September. Additionally, the civic committee ‘L’elefante nella stanza’ has issued formal warnings to both the Municipality and the local health authority (Asl), calling for the activity to be halted due to alleged critical issues. Health officials have conducted site inspections to verify sanitary conditions.
