Sassari launches free parking lot and shuttle service for Platamona beach

The municipality of Sassari opened a new parking area of more than 7,000 sq m on Via Stefanelli, near Piazzetta Abbacurrente, providing hundreds of free spaces to serve the popular Platamona beach. The facility adds to the 198 existing spots and operates daily from 08:00 to 19:00, with vehicle exits allowed until 21:00.

A free shuttle runs every 20 minutes from the same site, covering Via Stefanelli, Via Pieroni and Via della Torre, with stops at the Rotonda and Via della Torre, and runs from 08:00 to 20:00. Mayor Giuseppe Mascia said the project aims to make the coastline more accessible and attractive for residents and visitors, while infrastructure assessor Massimo Rizzu highlighted its contribution to traffic flow and pedestrian safety along the Sassari seafront.
