Sassari to offer free dog microchipping on October 28

The Municipality of Sassari and the Asl Sassari Department of Prevention are organizing a free microchipping event for dogs on Wednesday, October 28. The initiative, aimed at combating stray animals, will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the former district offices located on via Poligono.

No reservation is required, but the service is limited to the first 40 dogs based on arrival order. Priority will be given to residents and those domiciled within the Municipality of Sassari. To ensure safety and hygiene, owners must ensure animals are free of parasites, and large or potentially aggressive dogs must wear a muzzle. Each owner is limited to presenting a maximum of four dogs.

Participants must bring a personal identity document, a tax code, and a completed canine registry form, which can be downloaded from the Environment section of the Sassari municipal website. Microchipping is a legal requirement designed to facilitate the identification of animals in cases of theft or loss.
