Sassuolo interested in Union Saint-Gilloise defender Fedde Leysen

Italian club Sassuolo has established initial contact regarding the transfer of Fedde Leysen, the 23-year-old defender from Union Saint-Gilloise. According to transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Sassuolo is looking to strengthen its central defense and views the Belgian defender as an interesting profile.

Leysen, a left-footed center-back standing 1.91 meters tall, is currently under contract with Union Saint-Gilloise until June 30, 2029. His long-term deal provides the Belgian club with a strong negotiating position. His current market value is estimated at approximately 3.5 million euros.

Leysen previously played for PSV Eindhoven before joining Union Saint-Gilloise on a free transfer in 2023. He has drawn interest from several other major clubs in recent years, including Bologna, Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, Napoli, and Fiorentina.
