Italian municipalities address local infrastructure and property issues
Various local administrative and civic issues are being addressed across several Italian municipalities. In Cattolica Eraclea, councilors Nicola Piazza, Giuseppe D’Angelo, Anabelle Giuffrida, and Paolo Enzo Cammalleri have proposed a motion to transform unused or abandoned public buildings into development opportunities through a ‘one euro’ project. This initiative aims to stimulate tourism, employment, and economic growth by offering properties for symbolic lease or sale to those who commit to renovation and revitalization.
In Sassuolo, the municipal administration has launched an extraordinary maintenance plan to manage urban greenery. This includes the removal of high-risk or dead trees in various neighborhoods to ensure public safety, a process that was previously delayed by extreme summer temperatures.
Other local concerns include safety and infrastructure: in Messina, councilor Alessandro Cacciotto has called for urgent improvements to Via Don Blasco, citing lack of lighting and poor signage. In Pulsano, councilor Angelo Di Lena is requesting investigations into fallen trees at Lido Silvana following recent weather events. Additionally, in Scafati, Mayor Pasquale Aliberti reported recurring thefts at the local ecological island, noting that surveillance cameras identified repeat offenders.
