70‑year‑old woman attacked in Santa Marinella
A 70‑year‑old resident of Santa Marinella was surrounded by a group of teenagers on the evening of 23 June 2026. The youths shouted antisemitic slurs, chanted “Heil Hitler”, and kicked the woman as she tried to return home. A patrol of carabinieri heard her cries and intervened, after which the attackers fled on foot and on scooters.
Mayor Alessio Manuelli condemned the episode, calling it “inaccettabile e profondamente inquietante” and pledged “full solidarity with the victim and her family”. He announced that the municipal administration will cooperate with police to identify the perpetrators using available video footage and will request increased nighttime patrols in the town centre. The incident has sparked public outcry and renewed calls for stronger community vigilance and parental guidance.
The police are conducting investigations to determine the identities of the assailants and assess any hate‑crime implications.
