Sassuolo Politeama project stalls as funding bid is lost

The Politeama cultural venue in Sassuolo was presented as only temporarily suspended while awaiting the result of a funding application. The bid has now been lost, leaving the construction site completely idle.

No municipal budget lines have been identified to cover the remaining work, and the administration has offered no alternative plan. The first phase of the project had secured and reinforced the building, but further progress cannot resume without new financing. Alessandro Lucenti of Fratelli d'Italia criticised the lack of a “plan B” and called for clearer political commitment to complete the project.
