Sassuolo extends contract for Australian attacker Cristian Volpato

Sassuolo has secured the long-term future of Australian international Cristian Volpato by signing him to a contract extension running until June 2031. The 22-year-old attacker, who joined the Serie A club from Roma in 2023, has made 78 appearances for the Neroverdi, contributing nine goals and 11 assists.

Ahead of the upcoming match against Como, Sassuolo manager Alberto Aquilani addressed the team's recent performance following a 4-2 defeat to Frosinone. Aquilani emphasized the need for improved focus and concentration, noting that while the team's attitude was strong initially, errors during the match proved costly.

Regarding squad availability for the Como fixture, Aquilani confirmed that while Daniel Boloca, Ismaël Koné, and Fedde Leysen remain unavailable, most of the squad is ready. The club is still monitoring the fitness of Jay Idzes.
