Sat.1 launches 2026 season of 'Das große Backen' with new contestants and schedule
Germany’s popular baking competition "Das große Backen" returns for its 14th season on Sat.1. The series premieres on 29 July 2026 and will be broadcast weekly on Wednesdays at 20:15, concluding with a finale on 16 September 2026 after eight episodes.
Twelve hobby bakers will vie for the title of Germany’s best hobby baker 2026 and a prize of a gold cupcake plus €10,000 for charity. The contestant pool includes a baking influencer, a former professional handball player and an emergency medical technician, among others. The jury is composed of pastry‑queen Bettina Schliephake‑Burchardt and multiple‑time "Patissier des Jahres" Christian Hümbs.
The show is presented by longtime host Enie van de Meiklokjes, born Doreen Grochowski in Potsdam, who has moderated the series and its spin‑offs since 2013.
