Sat.1 :newstime launches week-long social‑justice series
From Monday, 3 August 2026, the German news programme Sat.1 :newstime will devote a full week to the theme of social justice. Each evening at 19:45 – 19:50 the show will examine a different aspect of inequality: city versus rural life, youth versus the elderly, men versus women, rich versus poor, and east versus west.
Reporter Elena Brächer opens the series with a report from Prüm in the Eifel region of Rheinland‑Pfalz, where the local hospital faces chronic financial problems and may have to close, highlighting the disparity between urban and rural health services. ProSiebenSat.1 chief editor Sven Pietsch said the programme aims to present “different life realities and perspectives” to support informed public opinion. All episodes are also available on the Joyn streaming platform. The broadcasts are produced in Unterföhring near Munich.
