Satgas PKH investigates illegal forest concessions linked to AK
The Forest Area Order Task Force (Satgas PKH) is investigating companies affiliated with Arif Kurniawan (AK) for the illegal occupation and utilization of forest areas. Following a leadership meeting led by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, the task force decided to take decisive action against AK's network of companies across Indonesia.
Spokesperson Barita Simanjuntak stated that the task force is verifying corporations with legal ties to AK, including potential links to a four-star police official. The enforcement actions, based on Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2025, include reclaiming forest areas, collecting administrative fines, and recovering state assets.
While specific details regarding the extent of the concessions or the commodities involved have not been released, the task force emphasized that administrative sanctions will not prevent criminal prosecution. Officials stated that criminal accountability will be pursued for anyone involved in the illegal occupation of forest land.
