Sathvik Nori withdraws from Sequoia school board race
Sathvik Nori, the youngest incumbent on the Sequoia Union High School District Board of Trustees, has announced he will not seek reelection for the Area D seat. In a joint statement, Nori endorsed his opponent, Michael Dekshenieks, for the upcoming November 3 general election.
Although Nori’s name will remain on the ballot, he has requested that voters redirect their support to Dekshenieks. Nori, who was elected in 2022 following his graduation from Menlo-Atherton High School, stated that serving the district's students, families, and educators has been an incredible honor.
Dekshenieks is a management executive and former U.S. Navy officer. He is a parent of two Menlo-Atherton graduates and has previously advocated for maintaining ninth-grade honors courses within the district.
