Satish Gujral centenary exhibition opens in Mumbai

The Mumbai chapter of the Satish Gujral 100 centenary celebrations opened on October 8, 2026. The exhibition, titled ‘Satish Gujral: The Modernist Returns’, honors one of India’s most significant modernist artists.

Presented by the National Gallery of Modern Art and the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the JSW Foundation, the exhibition is curated by Pramod Kumar K. G. It features over 100 works, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, mixed media, and architectural pieces, alongside personal archives and photographs.

Sangita Jindal, Chairperson of the JSW Foundation, noted that Gujral’s work across art and architecture was deeply connected to India’s history and identity. The event brought together artists, collectors, and cultural practitioners to mark the year-long centenary of the artist's birth.
