Satispay studies warn of potential cuts to employee benefits
Research commissioned by Satispay suggests that approximately 60% of companies could reduce employee benefits if current tax exemption thresholds for fringe benefits are not extended beyond their December 2027 expiration.
Two independent studies—one by Carlo Cottarelli and Giampaolo Galli from Università Cattolica di Milano, and a white paper from the Politecnico di Milano—were presented at an event in Rome. The findings argue that making these tax exemptions structural would be sustainable for public finances and beneficial for long-term economic growth by supporting household purchasing power.
Satispay CEO Alberto Dalmasso noted that corporate welfare has become a structural element for Italian businesses and workers, but uncertainty regarding tax thresholds continues to limit its potential. The platform currently serves over 430,000 workers across 45,000 client companies.
