Satoi Range stakeholders seek tax exemption for development funds
Stakeholder groups in the Satoi Range of Zunheboto district have issued a joint appeal to the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) to exempt development funds from taxation and financial deductions. The appeal, made by the Satoi Range GBs’ Association, the Satoi Range Students’ Union, and the Satoi Range Sumi Totimi Loka, specifically highlights the need to protect funds for the Zhekiye–Satoi Road project and other essential infrastructure works.
Representatives stated that the remote region has historically suffered from inadequate connectivity, healthcare, and education due to difficult terrain. They argued that any deductions from sanctioned funds could negatively impact the pace, quality, and scope of these vital projects. The groups also called for these developments to proceed without interference or disruption.
In addition to the tax exemption request, the stakeholders placed responsibility on government departments, executing agencies, and contractors to adhere to approved designs and quality standards. They warned that they would monitor progress to prevent substandard execution or unauthorized deviations from contractual obligations.
