Satomi Ishihara stars in new Fuji TV drama ‘Political Pan’

The Fuji TV drama ‘Political Pan’ premiered on October 7, starring Satomi Ishihara as Yayoi Kisaragi, a master thief in the fictional nation of Nipponia. The series follows Kisaragi as she attempts to infiltrate political circles to steal ‘dark political money’ after hearing exposés on television.

The production marks a reunion between Ishihara and acclaimed screenwriter Akiko Nogi, who previously collaborated on ‘Unnatural’. The cast includes Issei Takahashi, Yuumi Kawai, and Atsuro Watabe. Following its broadcast, the series is scheduled for domestic and international distribution on Netflix.

During promotional events, Ishihara discussed the challenges of balancing filming with childcare, noting that the quality of the script served as her primary motivation. Additionally, viewers have noted changes in actress Yuumi Kawai’s appearance, specifically regarding her dental alignment, during recent promotional appearances.
