Satomi Ishihara to star in new drama ‘Political Pan’

Actress Satomi Ishihara will star in the upcoming Fuji TV drama ‘Political Pan’, scheduled to premiere on October 7. The series marks the first collaboration between Ishihara and screenwriter Akiko Nogi since the 2018 drama ‘Unnatural’.

Set in the fictional nation of Nipponia, the story follows Yayoi Kisaragi, a master thief portrayed by Ishihara, who targets opaque ‘political money’. The plot involves Kisaragi infiltrating the political world and engaging in a game of deception with an elite ruling party official to seize dark political funds.

Nogi, known for works such as ‘MIU404’, stated that Ishihara was the first person she imagined for the role. Ishihara expressed excitement about the unique worldview of the series and the opportunity to work with Nogi again.
