Satpol PP enforces public order in Padang and Sleman, Indonesia

In Padang, the city’s Satpol PP seized and removed abandoned street‑vendor stalls along Batang Arau ahead of the 357th city anniversary, saying the area must remain clean and orderly for residents and tourists. Satpol PP chief Harvi Dasnoer emphasized that the action was to “sterilize public facilities” and keep the venue ready for the celebrations.

In Sleman, the Satpol PP partnered with neighborhood watch (kamling) groups to strengthen early detection of security disturbances. Over the first half of 2026, 179 training sessions were held in 14 sub‑districts, reaching hundreds of community leaders. Satpol PP head Sri Madu Rakyanto said the goal is for “the community to better understand regulations and help maintain order.” The program covered local ordinances on public safety and child‑care hours.
