SATRA implements traceability measures for school meal safety
SATRA is implementing rigorous inspection, traceability, and post-inspection protocols for its ‘Green Tick Responsibility’ products to ensure safety in school meals. By leveraging its integrated supply chain, the corporation connects production, transit, and distribution through various member companies.
VISSAN, a SATRA member, manages fresh meat and processed foods, utilizing a QR code system for pork traceability that includes data on farming locations, slaughter times, and veterinary inspections. COFIDEC handles the processing of agricultural and aquatic products, maintaining strict temperature controls from raw materials through storage and transport. The Binh Dien Wholesale Market serves as a key transit hub within this ecosystem.
During a recent seminar, Pham Khanh Phong Lan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department, emphasized that participation in a safety chain is not a permanent guarantee of quality. She noted that continuous monitoring, data storage, and strict adherence to supplier standards are essential to maintaining transparency and accountability in the food supply chain.
