SATSE demands more nursing staff for Castilla-La Mancha vaccination campaign

The nursing union SATSE has called on the Castilla-La Mancha Health Service (Sescam) to increase nursing staff in primary care centers ahead of the upcoming influenza and COVID-19 vaccination campaign. The campaign, expected to begin between late September and October, involves more than 540,000 doses.

SATSE warns that current staff are already facing high workloads. The union argues that additional hiring is necessary to prevent delays and ensure the campaign meets national coverage targets, which aim for 75 percent among the elderly and 60 percent among pregnant women and children under five. The organization emphasizes that nursing duties extend beyond administration to include prevention, patient monitoring, and adverse effect detection, particularly in rural areas.
