Satu Mare hosts SamRock Festival and reports textile recycling success

The city of Satu Mare is hosting the SamRock Festival from August 28 to August 30 at 25-Octombrie Square. Organized by the city administration and the G. M. Zamfirescu Cultural Center, the event aims to revive rock music traditions by featuring tribute bands alongside emerging local talent.

The festival lineup includes tribute acts such as The GetNos (Rolling Stones), Speak Floyd (Pink Floyd), Hollywood Rose (Guns N' Roses), and The Rock (AC/DC). A highlight of the event is the SamRock talent competition, where ten finalist bands from various Romanian regions will compete for prizes.

In separate environmental news, Satu Mare reported collecting 132 tons of textile waste over the past year. Of this amount, 118 tons were successfully reused or recycled, while the remaining non-recyclable materials were processed for energy recovery through incineration.
