Satu Mare schools post high scores in national exam
In the latest national assessment, the Bartók Béla Theoretical Lyceum in Satu Mare saw 36 eighth‑grade students sit the exam, with 97.2% achieving marks above the passing grade. The school's overall average was 7.86, and nine pupils earned averages above nine. Across the county, the Ministry of Education released the 2026 school ranking, placing Ioan Slavici High School at the top with an 8.93 average, followed by Mihai Eminescu High School at 8.82. The Grigore Moisil Primary School ranked third with an 8.08 average. Nine of the ten best institutions were located in the county capital, while the Mezőfényi Primary School was the highest‑ranked rural school with a 7.37 average. The results highlight strong performance among Satu Mare’s leading schools and a notable gap between top‑performing and lower‑performing institutions.
