Saturday Night Live mocks Trump and Xi Jinping meeting

The latest Weekend Update segments on Saturday Night Live and Saturday Night Live U.K. featured satirical commentary on several high-profile political and global figures.

In the United States, hosts mocked President Donald Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping during a state visit, including jokes regarding a 100-foot red carpet and military flyovers. The segment also addressed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s remarks at Texas A&M University, where he rejected “social experiments” in the military.

The U.K. version of the program provided additional satire, including jokes about Trump’s attire during the meeting with Xi Jinping and his interactions with U.K. Prime Minister Andy Burnham. Other topics covered in the sketches included Sam Altman’s warnings regarding ChatGPT and the recent sentencing of Harvey Weinstein.
