Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty exit BWF World Championships

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have been eliminated from the BWF World Championships in the men’s doubles quarter-finals. The Indian pair lost to China’s Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang with a score of 21-18, 21-9 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.

After a competitive first game where the Indians held a narrow 11-10 lead at the interval, the Chinese duo regained control in the closing stages. The second game saw the Indian pair struggle to find momentum, resulting in a 35-minute defeat that ended their campaign for a second consecutive semi-final appearance.

Following this loss, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand remain India’s only representatives in the tournament after having already secured a bronze medal in the women’s doubles.
