Sauce residents detain suspect in cell phone technician murder

Residents of the Sauce district in Peru mobilized to apprehend suspects following the murder of Álex Aníbal Coronado de la Cruz, a 36-year-old cell phone technician. The attack occurred while the victim was working at his establishment, located near the local police station.

During a search that lasted through the night, locals intercepted one suspect, identified as Nasaiel Salazar Alejandro, a Venezuelan national. Following a pursuit and an exchange of gunfire, the individual was caught and subsequently beaten by a crowd. A Taurus .38 caliber pistol was also recovered during the search.

The situation escalated when the suspect was taken to the Sauce Plaza de Armas, where residents attempted to carry out vigilante justice. Agents from the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri) of Tarapoto arrived to intervene and secure the individual. Due to injuries sustained during the mob action, the suspect was treated at a local health center before being transferred to Tarapoto authorities. Residents are reportedly using drones to continue the search for a second suspect.
