Sauce Viejo Municipal Council rejects removal of councilman Pedro Uliambre

The Municipal Council of Sauce Viejo has voted to reject a request to exclude councilman Pedro Damián Uliambre from his position. The decision was reached during an extraordinary session with a split vote of three in favor of his continuity and two in favor of his removal.

The initiative to remove Uliambre was proposed by Mayor Mario Papaleo, who cited outstanding municipal debts and unpaid taxes and services dating back to 2012. The Executive Department presented records of more than 50 unpaid periods of the General Property Tax (TGI) and water services, noting that these obligations had resulted in firm judicial sentences.

Council members Carlos Piedrabuena, Daniel Hansen, and Susana De Castro supported the majority opinion to allow Uliambre to remain in office. Conversely, Valeria Echeverri and Natalia Benítez supported the minority opinion to proceed with the exclusion. Under Provincial Law 14.436, a two-thirds majority—equivalent to four votes in the six-member council—is required to resolve an exclusion.
