Egyptian banks report stable USD, Kuwaiti and Jordanian currency rates against the pound
Egyptian banks posted largely unchanged foreign‑exchange rates on 1–2 August 2026. The US dollar traded at roughly 51.1 EGP for both buying and selling across major banks, with the Central Bank of Egypt quoting 51.21 EGP sell and 51.07 EGP buy. The Kuwaiti dinar showed buy rates from 159.8 EGP to 165.6 EGP and sell rates from 164.8 EGP to 165.1 EGP, varying by institution such as the National Bank of Egypt, Bank Misr and CIB. The Jordanian dinar was quoted at 71.94 EGP buy and 72.33 EGP sell by the Central Bank, with commercial banks offering similar levels around 71.2‑72.3 EGP.
Overall, the rates remained stable with only minor bank‑to‑bank differences, reflecting steady demand and supply conditions in the Egyptian foreign‑exchange market.
