Saudi Arabia adjusts oil pricing with discounts for Asia

Saudi Arabia has adjusted its crude oil pricing, offering significant discounts to Asian markets while increasing costs for European buyers. According to Reuters data, the official selling price for Arab Light oil for November deliveries to Asia is five US dollars below the average of the Oman and Dubai reference grades. This represents a three-dollar per barrel discount compared to the previous month, marking the largest such discount since June 2020.

Saudi Aramco has also reduced prices for the heavier Arab Medium and Arab Heavy grades by five dollars per barrel for the Asian market. Sources indicate these discounts are intended to offset rising freight costs for Asian customers and help secure the company's market share. Conversely, European buyers are expected to face a three-dollar per barrel premium compared to their Asian counterparts.
