Saudi Arabia advances sports infrastructure and football ambitions

Saudi Arabian sports infrastructure and football clubs are entering a period of expansion. Al Ahli Saudi Club is planning for the 2026 summer transfer window following their second consecutive AFC Champions League Elite title. The club aims to strengthen its squad to maintain its position as a dominant force in Asian football.

In Al-Khobar, construction is underway for the Aramco Stadium, a SAR 3.7 billion multi-purpose venue developed by Aramco and ROSHN Group. Scheduled for completion in November 2026, the stadium features a unique spiral design inspired by the Arabian Gulf. It is set to host matches for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup and the 2034 FIFA World Cup, serving as a key component of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals to enhance tourism and entertainment.
