Saudi Arabia and China strengthen strategic investment and industrial partnerships

Dr. Saad Al-Shahrani, Deputy Minister of Investment for Economic Affairs and Investment Studies, highlighted the strategic investment partnership between Saudi Arabia and China during a dialogue session at the Select Financial Markets Forum in Shanghai. Organized by Saudi Tadawul, the session focused on deepening mutual investments and strengthening industrial partnerships to build value chains serving Saudi Arabia, the region, and global markets.

Al-Shahrani invited Chinese companies to participate in developing next-generation industries, emphasizing that the future of the partnership will center on investment, construction, innovation, and shared growth. He noted that Saudi Arabia offers a stable environment with significant long-term growth opportunities.

Reviewing the economic transformations under Vision 2030, Al-Shahrani reported that the Saudi economy has doubled over the last decade. Key metrics include a fivefold increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, a tenfold increase in the number of foreign companies operating in the Kingdom, and a 50% reduction in the unemployment rate among Saudi citizens. Furthermore, non-oil local investment now accounts for approximately 40% of non-oil GDP, positioning Saudi Arabia second in the G20 after China in this metric.
