Saudi Arabia and Egypt strengthen strategic ties for regional security
Saudi Arabian and Egyptian officials have emphasized the strategic importance of the bilateral relationship in maintaining Arab national security and regional stability. Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, described Saudi Arabia and Egypt as the ‘two wings of the nation,’ asserting that historical ties remain resilient against attempts to create discord between the two countries.
In a separate context, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi expressed gratitude to Gulf nations for their support of Egypt. He indicated Egypt's readiness to take necessary measures to defend the sovereignty and security of Saudi Arabia if requested, noting that such actions would be focused on protection rather than aggression.
Furthermore, Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Turki bin Abdullah Al-Wada'i, highlighted that coordination between Riyadh and Cairo is essential for addressing regional challenges, including the restoration of state institutions in Yemen and ensuring the security of international maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
