Saudi Arabia and France sign sports cooperation agreement
The Saudi Ministry of Sport has signed a memorandum of understanding with the French Ministry of Sports, Youth and Community Life to enhance athletic cooperation and exchange expertise between the two nations. The agreement was signed in Paris during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Esports World Cup by Saudi Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal and French Minister Marina Ferrari.
The memorandum establishes a framework for cooperation across various sectors, including elite sports, esports, and grassroots athletics. Key areas of collaboration include the development of athletic personnel, the exchange of scientific and medical research, and cooperation in sports law.
Additionally, the partnership aims to address anti-doping measures, sports for all, and sports for people with disabilities. The agreement also covers sports infrastructure, investment, sports tourism, and the implementation of joint projects regarding sports policies within international organizations.
