Saudi Arabia faces Houthi missile attacks targeting Aramco and Riyadh
Tensions between Saudi Arabia and Houthi rebels have escalated following a series of missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi infrastructure. The Saudi-led coalition reported intercepting six drones and six missiles launched by Houthi forces toward various regions in the kingdom. In Riyadh, debris from two intercepted cruise missiles fell in residential areas, injuring four people—including two women, a man, and a child—and causing minor damage to 15 houses.
In the eastern province, an administrative building belonging to Saudi Aramco in Dhahran was struck by a ballistic missile, resulting in a limited fire. While the building sustained damage to its upper floors, authorities reported no injuries or deaths at the site.
In response to the ongoing conflict, the Saudi-led coalition conducted airstrikes against the Al-Sabaha central station and other fuel storage sites near Sanaa to neutralize Houthi military capabilities. The Yemen Petroleum Company clarified that the Al-Sabaha facility did not contain petroleum stocks at the time of the strike, suggesting the operation would not impact fuel supplies.
Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree has issued warnings of a “firm and painful” retaliation, identifying Saudi Aramco headquarters, Riyadh refineries, and King Khalid International Airport as potential targets.
