Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and Moroccan Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration Abdellatif Louaddi held a phone call on Monday to discuss strengthening defense cooperation and supporting regional stability.

The discussions follow recent communications from King Mohammed VI, who sent telegrams to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In these messages, the Moroccan monarch emphasized that the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council is inseparable from Morocco's own security, stating that any aggression against Saudi Arabia is an attack on Morocco.

King Mohammed VI also condemned Houthi attacks against Saudi civilian, economic, and residential targets, including attempts to target Mecca. He called for international sanctions against those responsible for these actions. This follows an escalation of Houthi strikes in September 2026, after the group declared a maritime ban on the Kingdom in July 2026.
