Saudi Arabia announces Mecca Joint Defense Alliance with Turkey and Pakistan

Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has announced the establishment of the ‘Mecca Joint Defense Alliance’, a partnership involving Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. Speaking at the opening session of the 9th term of the Shura Council in Riyadh, the Crown Prince stated that the alliance aims to strengthen regional security, bolster defense cooperation, and promote stability among member nations.

Bin Salman emphasized the importance of avoiding tension and conflict to maintain regional peace. He noted that attacks targeting Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries demonstrate that the security and stability of the Gulf region are an indivisible whole. The initiative aligns with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s vision for strategic cooperation and economic integration.

Regarding regional conflicts, the Crown Prince reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s comprehensive support for the Yemeni government to restore sovereignty and stability against Houthi militia attacks. Additionally, he condemned the ongoing Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip and violations regarding Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling on the international community to pursue a permanent political solution and supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
