Saudi Arabia coach Donis prepares for Oman clash

Saudi Arabia national team coach Georgios Donis has confirmed the squad is prepared for their upcoming match against Oman in the second round of the Khaleeji 27 group stage. Donis announced that Nawaf Al-Aqidi will miss the game due to a difficult injury, while Mohammed Al-Qahtani is sidelined due to illness.

Following a 1-0 victory over Kuwait, Donis emphasized the need for his players to improve decision-making inside the penalty area and address the issue of wasted scoring opportunities. He noted that while the team is creating numerous chances, they must develop the composure and confidence required to convert them.

Regarding player development, Donis highlighted that players such as Hammam Al-Hammami, Saleh Abu Al-Shamat, and Musab Al-Juwayr require more consistent playing time with their respective clubs to maintain match fitness and confidence. He also noted that the technical staff has analyzed Oman's tactical approach, specifically their reliance on multiple attackers, and plans to adjust the Saudi lineup accordingly.
