Saudi Arabia coach George Donis says Spain will be different without Yamal and Williams

Saudi Arabia manager George Donis said the Spanish national team loses a significant portion of its attacking dynamism when teenage winger Lamine Yamal and forward Nico Williams are not on the field. Speaking ahead of the World Cup 2026 Group C match between Saudi Arabia and Spain on 21 June, Donis noted that Spain may still dominate possession but lacks the individual energy to create danger without the two players. He recalled Saudi Arabia’s 1‑1 draw with Uruguay in the group’s opening match and stressed that his side must stay compact, improve defensive coordination and guard against Spain’s ball‑penetration. Donis concluded by urging his players to respect the quality of the opponent while not being intimidated, reminding that football often produces surprising results.
