Saudi Arabia condemns Houthi attacks and increases security readiness
Saudi Information Minister Salman Al-Dossary has condemned recent Houthi attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure within the Kingdom. He stated that the Houthi militia disregards international laws and ethical principles, specifically noting attacks that targeted holy sites and pilgrims at airports.
Al-Dossary emphasized that while the state has increased its security readiness and deployed advanced technical capabilities to counter missile and drone threats, daily life in Saudi Arabia continues normally. He noted that heightened preparedness is a proactive measure to manage various scenarios rather than a sign of instability.
In response to recent attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the General Authority of Civil Aviation announced an extension of the suspension of operational activities at the airport to ensure facility safety. Consequently, Gulf Air and Etihad Airways have suspended flights to and from Riyadh.
