Saudi Arabia executes man for killing his mother in Eastern Province
The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced the execution of Nasser bin Eid bin Awad Al-Mudhaibari in the Eastern Province on August 22, 2026. Al-Mudhaibari was convicted of killing his mother, Fatima bint Salah bin Ghuwaynim Al-Mudhaibari, by shooting her.
Following his arrest and investigation, the court confirmed the charges. The sentence was finalized after being upheld by the Supreme Court, leading to a royal order for its implementation. The Ministry stated that the execution was carried out as a discretionary punishment (ta'zir) due to the heinous nature of the crime.
