Saudi Arabia expands bilateral economic cooperation with South Sudan and Kuwait
South Sudan’s Transitional National Legislative Assembly has ratified a General Cooperation Agreement with Saudi Arabia. The accord, originally signed in Riyadh in January 2022, provides a framework for various ministries to establish direct partnerships in sectors including agriculture, education, mining, and infrastructure development.
Separately, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have formalized a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in economic and planning affairs. The agreement focuses on economic policy, long-term planning, economic studies, and the development of green, circular, and digital economies. The partnership involves the exchange of expertise and information between Kuwait’s General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Economy and Planning.
