Saudi Arabia expands humanitarian aid in Sudan and Syria

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched the Athar Program in Sudan to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The initiative focuses on providing immediate life-saving medical treatments, specialized surgeries, and blindness prevention, while also offering economic training in health fields to build long-term resilience. The program aims to benefit hundreds of thousands of people through hundreds of volunteer projects.

In Syria, Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its support for reconstruction and the voluntary return of refugees. Working alongside the UNHCR, KSrelief is rehabilitating homes and providing shelter assistance to prepare returning families for the winter season. The Kingdom is emphasizing the integration of humanitarian aid with development initiatives to promote long-term stability and livelihood opportunities for displaced Syrians.
