Saudi Arabia expands industrial leadership and non-oil exports
At the opening of the second Saudi Industry Forum 2026, Abdullah Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, stated that Saudi Arabia has become a leader in various industries. Key sectors highlighted include petrochemicals, machinery, food, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and construction materials.
Kamel noted that the number of industrial establishments has increased from 7,000 at the start of Vision 2030 to over 15,000 today. He specifically pointed to the emergence of new sectors, such as military industries, which now includes more than 347 licensed companies. The industrial sector's contribution to the national GDP has risen to 16%.
The growth is attributed to government support, improved legislation, advanced infrastructure, and the availability of raw materials, which have enhanced the competitiveness of Saudi products in global markets.
