Saudi Arabia expands Umrah packages with cultural and historical tours

Saudi Arabian authorities are working to diversify Umrah pilgrimage packages by integrating historical and cultural experiences. The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, recently hosted a tour for over 70 travel agencies representing more than three million pilgrims worldwide. The initiative aims to help international operators develop programs that combine religious rituals with curated visits to significant landmarks in Makkah.

In a related development, pilgrims from Shafira Tour and Travel recently arrived in Madinah, coinciding with the observance of Maulid Nabi. The group visited the Raudhah area within Masjid Nabawi. Under current regulations, pilgrims must obtain entry permits (tasreh) via the Nusuk application, though travel agencies continue to assist with the coordination of these digital permits to ensure access for their clients.
