Saudi Arabia experiences extreme heat and dust storms across multiple regions

The Saudi National Center of Meteorology issued a forecast warning that temperatures will remain hot to extremely hot in the Eastern Province and parts of Mecca, Medina and Riyadh. Active dust‑raising winds are expected to reduce horizontal visibility on coastal areas of Mecca and Medina and affect parts of Qassim, the Northern Borders and Tabuk.

The report also notes a continued chance of thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds over Jazan, Asir, the southern part of the Eastern Province and Najran. Surface winds over the Red Sea are projected to be north‑westerly to north at 25‑55 km/h in the northern and central sectors and 12‑40 km/h in the southern sector, exceeding 50 km/h when rain‑bearing clouds develop. Wave heights are expected to range from 1.5‑2.5 m in the north and central Red Sea and up to more than 2 m in the south, with sea conditions shifting from moderate to choppy. Over the Arabian Gulf, winds will be north‑westerly to south‑westerly at 15‑30 km/h and wave heights between 0.5‑1 m.
