Saudi Arabia hosts literary events in Dammam and Al-Baha

Cultural events are taking place across Saudi Arabia, focusing on the intersection of literature, psychology, and societal transformation.

In Dammam, the Short Story Club organized a literary evening titled ‘When the Soul Writes Its Story.’ Held in conjunction with World Mental Health Day, the event explored the psychological dimensions of short stories and the relationship between creative writing and mental health. Participants discussed how writers transform human experiences of joy, pain, and loss into literary texts, and how writing can serve as a tool for self-reflection and emotional recovery.

In Al-Baha, the Al-Bahah Literary Association is hosting an evening titled ‘The Novel in the Era of Vision.’ Led by Dr. Hassan Al-Nuami, the session will examine how the novel reflects societal shifts and intellectual questions within the context of the national vision. The event includes a poetry evening featuring regional poets, a book exhibition, and the inauguration of the ‘Embassy of Literature’ headquarters in Al-Baha.
