Saudi Arabia improves gaming latency by 89% and leads digital readiness
Saudi Arabia has reported an 89 percent improvement in latency rates for popular electronic games, according to the fifth edition of the ‘Saudi Internet’ report by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST). Low latency rates were recorded for titles such as Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends at 11 milliseconds, and Mobile Legends at 12 milliseconds.
The report highlights significant growth in the Internet of Things (IoT) sector, with subscriptions reaching 13.85 million. Urban population coverage using Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology has reached approximately 99 percent, supported by over 30,000 towers. Additionally, the Kingdom ranked first globally in the International Telecommunication Union’s 2025 Digital Readiness Index.
In parallel with infrastructure developments, the King Salman Science Oasis, in partnership with Savvy Games Group, concluded a ‘Next Generation Gaming Camp.’ The program aimed to teach youth the fundamentals of game design and development, fostering skills in teamwork and problem-solving through practical projects.
