Saudi Arabia introduces school needs assessment portfolios

Saudi Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan has introduced new strategic plans and programs aimed at aligning the national education system with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. A central component of this initiative is the implementation of a ‘needs assessment portfolio’ for every school.

This portfolio is designed to empower individual schools by identifying their specific requirements, thereby improving performance efficiency and ensuring high-quality educational outcomes. The strategy focuses on developing safe and attractive school environments that foster innovation and creativity, while also enhancing the partnership between schools and the community.

The broader reform includes modernizing curricula across all levels, from early childhood through university, to create an integrated and cumulative educational impact on students.
